Job summary

Rocky Bay is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist people living with disability in shared accommodation. You will help with daily routines, personal care, meals and mobility, tailoring support to each individual’s goals.

Qualifications

• Passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives.
• Reliable, patient and person-centred.
• Available for a variety of shifts and times.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and confident supporting complex needs and behaviours.
• Experience in PEG feeding and hoist transfers for complex high care needs.
• Previous support work experience with complex disabilities is essential.
• Experience or knowledge of Active Support, or willingness to learn
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, medication and household tasks
• Build positive, trusting relationships with customers
• Support customers to develop skills and independence
• Support customers with mobility, transfers, hoisting and other physical assistance as required
• Follow person-centred support plans and respond to individual needs
• Maintain accurate case notes, timesheets and incident reports
