Job summary

Claro Disability Services in Melbourne is seeking compassionate care workers to support clients with complex needs. You will provide person-centered care, mobility assistance, daily tasks, and social participation, while collaborating with families and clinical teams.

Flexible rosters, induction, travel allowances, and a supportive team help you build meaningful relationships and make a real impact on clients’ independence.

Responsibilities

• Chat with clients and families to understand goals and routines.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and daily tasks as outlined in care plan.
• Follow medical and clinical plans and liaise with care team as needed.
• Provide social engagement, meaningful activities, and community participation.
• Support autonomy, respect consent, and promote independence.
• Respect cultural backgrounds and values in care delivery.
• Work with clients with stroke, spinal injuries, non-verbal communication, and complex care needs.

What you’ll do

• Person-centered planning: Chat with the client (and family/advocates), get the know them and understanding of goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices (wheelchairs, aids, etc.) as outlined in the plan
• Medical supports: Watch for changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Social time and participation: Bring meaning, fun, and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being
• You will be working with clients with stroke, Spina Bifida, Non verbal, complex care ,Stoma care, bladder care, catheter care, bowel care ,meal prep, personal care, medication, community participation, use of electric wheelchair,cleaning, cooking, shopping, client specific management plans.

• Must have: 1-3 years experience in Disability or Aged Care

• Wed - 7.30am to 1.30pm
• Sat - 7am to 1.30pm
• Sun - 2pm to 10pm

Week 2

• Mon - 7am to 3pm
• Tues - 7.30am to 1.30pm
• Wed - 7.30am to 1.30pm
• Sat - 2.30pm to 8pm
• Sun - 6pm to 7am inc S/O (11pm - 7am)

Total 53 hours F/N

Week 1

• Mon - 3pm to 9pm
• Wed - 10am to 3pm
• Thur - 7am to 3pm
• Fri - 10am to 3.30pm
