Job summary

Sylvanvale is a not-for-profit disability service provider supporting over 350 people. We’re looking for a Flexible Support Worker to deliver one-on-one support at home and in the community, helping clients gain confidence and daily living skills while staying connected to people and activities that matter.

For this role, a female client preference is noted. You will build meaningful relationships with clients, families and the wider support network and contribute to their goals every day.

Qualifications

• Passionate about supporting people with disability and community-based activities.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, flexibility and person-centred approach.
• Comfortable using smartphones and mobile applications.
• Holds full Australian work rights and a current NSW Driver Licence.
• Reliable vehicle and willingness to use it for client transport.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and National Police Check.
• Evidence of Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support at home and in the community to help clients build confidence and daily living skills.
• Assist clients to attend appointments, shop, use public transport, prepare meals, and manage household tasks.
• Support clients to engage in local activities and social outings, fostering inclusion and independence.

About the Role

If you enjoy building meaningful relationships and supporting people to live more independently, this could be the role for you. As a Flexible Support Worker, you'll provide one-on-one support at home and in the community, helping clients build confidence, develop daily living skills, achieve their individual goals and stay connected to the people and activities that matter most to them.

Every day is different, from attending appointments and shopping to using public transport, preparing meals, supporting household tasks, exploring local attractions or enjoying a coffee at a favourite café. Along the way, you'll encourage social inclusion, foster independence and build positive relationships with clients, families and the wider support network.

For this particular role, the client's preference is for a female Support Worker.
