Job summary

Endeavour Foundation is seeking Disability Support Workers to join SIL homes across the Sunshine Coast, including Mapleton and surrounding suburbs. This part-time role offers a mix of days, afternoons and sleepover shifts, with open availability required.

You will support people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, helping with daily living tasks, personal care, meal planning, social activities and community access, while fostering safe, respectful relationships.

Qualifications

• Calm, compassionate, professional Disability Support Worker required.
• Open availability including multiple sleepovers and varied shifts across days, evenings, weekends and overnights.
• Hold or be willing to obtain required checks (Blue Card, Yellow Card, First Aid/CPR, Fit2Work, driver’s license).

Responsibilities

• Help people achieve NDIs goals by developing daily living skills (housekeeping, personal care, social skills, budgeting).
• Assist with personal care as needed to meet individual needs.
• Support meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and community outings.
• Provide support during daily activities and appointments.
• Help maintain connections with family, friends and services.

We have Part-time positions available across our SIL homes in Mapleton and surrounding suburbs, offering a mix of days, afternoons and sleepover supports. To be considered for this role, you will be required to have open availability, including the ability to work sleepover shifts.

Working within our SIL (Supported Independent Living) homes across the Sunshine Coast, you will provide support, assisting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need some additional support at home. No two days will be the same - you may hear that phrase a lot but here at Endeavour Foundation, you will see it in action!

Other Key Duties Will Include

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
• Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.
• Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies or accompanying to an appointment.
• Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a calm, compassionate, and professional Disability Support Worker with experience supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. You will be confident providing personal care and supporting daily living tasks while creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure, respond appropriately to challenging situations, and build trusting relationships is essential for success in this role.

We Also Require

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability to work shifts that may include multiple sleepovers and a variety of shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and active overnight supports.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Drivers License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
