Job summary

Endeavour Foundation in Redcliffe, Australia is seeking casual Disability Support Workers to empower people with disabilities in SIL homes. You will help develop daily living skills, support personal care and community activities, and promote independence within a respectful, person-centred environment.

Responsibilities

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
• Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.
• Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies or accompanying to an appointment.
• Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services.

Job description

We have 2 x casual positions available across our SILhomes in the Redcliffe area.

Working within our SIL (Supported Independent Living) homes you will play a vital role in empowering people with disabilities to live independently, build confidence and achieve their goals. Whether supporting people with complex needs or helping someone develop everyday life skills, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference every day. No two days will be the same, and you'll be part of a supportive team that values inclusion, respect and person-centred support.

Other key duties will include:

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a calm, compassionate, and professional Disability Support Worker with experience supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. You will be confident providing personal care and supporting daily living tasks while creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure, respond appropriately to challenging situations, and build trusting relationships is essential for success in this role. Most importantly, you are passionate about empowering people with disability to live the life they choose.

We also require:

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability to work shifts that may includemultiple sleepovers and a variety of shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and active overnight supports.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain aWorking with Children Check(Blue Card),NDIS Worker Screening Check(Yellow Card),First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check(Fit2Work), and an openDrivers Licensewithcomprehensive insuranceon your vehicle.
