Job summary

Endeavour Foundation in Mackay region is hiring casual Disability Support Workers to join SIL homes in Cannonvale, QLD. You will provide person-centred support to people with disability, helping them live independently and achieve personal goals.

A calm, compassionate and professional approach is essential to succeed in this team. We offer shifts across day, afternoon, sleepover and active overnight supports, with a focus on dignity, safety and community participation.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Open availability, including sleepovers and weekend shifts.
• Willingness to obtain Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid/ CPR and National Criminal History Check.
• Open Driver Licence and comprehensive vehicle insurance.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with people with disability.

Responsibilities

• Support people to achieve NDIS goals and daily living skills.
• Provide personal care in line with individual needs.
• Assist with meal planning, cooking and light cleaning.
• Facilitate community participation and social connections.

We have a casual Disability Support Worker positions available across our SIL (Supported Independent Living) homes in Cannonvale, QLD, offering a mix of day, afternoon and sleepover supports.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have open availability, including the ability to work sleepover shifts.

Working within our SIL homes in Cannonvale, you will provide person-centred support to people with disability, helping them live as independently as possible and achieve their individual goals.

No two days are the same. You could be supporting someone to develop daily living skills, preparing a meal together, attending an appointment, enjoying a community outing or providing personal care — every day brings an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

Key duties include:

• Supporting people to achieve their NDIS goals and develop daily living skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Providing personal care and support in line with each person's individual needs.
• Supporting meal planning, cooking and light household cleaning.
• Facilitating community participation and social connection through outings and activities.
• Supporting people with everyday activities such as walks, appointments, shopping and recreational activities.
• Helping people maintain meaningful connections with family, friends and other support services.
• Providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment that promotes independence and choice.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a calm, compassionate and professional Disability Support Worker who is confident supporting people with a range of support needs, including complex needs and behaviours of concern.

You will be comfortable providing personal care and supporting daily living activities, while building positive and trusting relationships with the people we support. The ability to remain calm under pressure, respond appropriately to behaviours of concern and work as part of a team is essential.

We also require:

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, afternoons, weekends, sleepovers and active overnight supports.
• Good computer skills, including experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid, CPR and National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work).
• An open Driver Licence and comprehensive insurance for your vehicle.
