Beyond Barriers Gippsland Pty Ltd in Morwell invites applications for a Casual Disability Support Worker to support individuals in home and community settings across Gippsland. The role requires availability for at least 10 hours per week, including one weekend per month and some evenings.

We seek compassionate, reliable team members who can build rapport, work independently, and help clients live more independently. Ongoing training, inclusive team culture, and EAP support are offered.

Competenze

• Certificate III or IV in individual support or Diploma in community services (desirable).
• Minimum 6 months experience in disability support or a similar role (desirable).
• Current Driver's Licence and Comprehensive Car Insurance.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (obtain if not held).
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module and Supporting People to Stay Infection Free module (complete if not already).
• Applicants must have legal work rights in Australia.

Casual Disability Support Worker – Gippsland

We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our growing team across Gippsland on a casual basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support people living with disabilities to build independence, achieve their goals and actively engage in their communities.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to participants in their homes and within the community. You will play an important role in enhancing participants' quality of life through practical assistance, personal care and meaningful social support.

This position is casual requiring the ability to work at least 10 hours per week. Applicants must be available at least 1 weekend a month and some evenings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with various household tasks, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry, to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
• Provide hands‑on personal care based on individual client needs, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management.
• Encourage and support clients in developing and maintaining their independence and self‑confidence by offering guidance and assistance as needed.
• Foster meaningful connections with clients through active listening, companionship, and empathy, promoting mental and emotional well‑being.
• Conduct regular assessments of clients' needs and progress, maintaining accurate records and promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain participant health records and documentation.
• Always ensure the safety and well‑being of clients, following established safety protocols and infection control measures.

About You

• Must live within 1 hour of Morwell

Skills & Experience

• A certificate III or IV in individual support, or a diploma in community services (desirable)
• Minimum 6 months experience in disability support or a similar role (desirable)
• Current Driver's Licence and Comprehensive Car Insurance
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.(Successful applicants must obtain if not already held)
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module and Supporting People to Stay Infection Free module(Successful applicants must complete if not already completed)
• Applicants must have legal work rights in Australia
