Job summary

Social Care and Education in NSW is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to deliver high-quality, tailored care to individuals with diverse needs, helping them live fulfilling and independent lives.

You will support people with mental health needs, autism, learning disabilities and epilepsy; use de-escalation techniques, provide medication administration support, and promote daily living skills with dignity and compassion. Training and supervision are provided.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with mental health needs, autism, learning disabilities, and epilepsy
• Using de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour safely and professionally
• Providing support around self-harm in line with risk assessments and care plans
• Delivering personal care with dignity, respect, and compassion
• Supporting daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and community access
• Administering medication and maintaining accurate documentation
• Working one-to-one and during lone working shifts where required
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and emotional well-being
