Job summary

Point Care is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by delivering person-centred, high-quality support aligned with the NDIS.

The Support Worker will provide assistance to clients in accordance with their individual NDIS plans, promoting independence, safety, and overall well-being. You will work across day shifts, nights, sleepovers and weekends to support diverse client needs and families.

Qualifications

• Experience with NDIS practices and safeguarding clients.
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or willingness to complete.
• High school certificate or equivalent.
• Currently located in Australia with valid work rights.
• Availability to work across day, night, sleepovers and weekends.
• Strong communication and cultural sensitivity.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in line with NDIS plans and goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as grooming, dressing, bathing.
• Provide transport support to appointments and community activities.
• Deliver respite care to families when required.
• Maintain accurate records of care plans and progress.
• Communicate with clients, families, and care team.
• Follow health and safety policies and duty of care obligations.
• Participate in ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to clients in line with their NDIS goals and support plans
• Assist with daily living activities, including eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming
• Provide transportation support to appointments and community activities
• Deliver respite care to clients and their families when required
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client care plans and progress notes
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other members of the care team
• Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure client well-being
• Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with NDIS best practices

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school certificate or equivalent
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability, Aged Care, or related field), or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded)
• Lived experience and/or paid experience supporting people with disability
• Must be currently located in Australia at the time of application
• Must hold valid work rights and lawful permission to live and work in Australia at the time of application
• Availability to work across day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends
• Strong understanding of the NDS and its Practice Standards
• Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and duty of care obligations
• Ability to work with a diverse client base, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity to varying abilities, backgrounds, and communication needs
• Basic care skills, including first aid (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital systems
