Job summary

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is seeking a Laboratory Aide (Support Services) for the St George Lab in Kogarah. You will support the Specimen Reception, perform data entry of patient demographics and pathology request information, and help maintain the safe work area.

No prior laboratory experience is required as full training is provided. The role is full-time on a rotating roster between 6:30am and 9:00pm, Monday to Friday, with weekend and public holiday shifts as needed.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Aide (Support Services) to join our Laboratory in Kogarah. You will be an essential member of our team, and your responsibilities will include the following:

• Supporting the Specimen Reception Area through the accurate receipt, processing and distribution of pathology specimens.
• Performing data entry of patient demographics and pathology request information.
• Maintaining work area to accepted standards of work health and safety and maintaining all equipment in SRA.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and a commitment to quality.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support within the scope of your training and capabilities.

We have a supportive learning environment, therefore prior experience is not required Full training will be provided.

We are looking for the following:

• Available to work full-time on a rotating roster between 6:30am and 9:00pm, Monday to Friday, with participation in weekend and public holiday shifts as required.
• A hard-working, motivated and reliable individual with a strong work ethic.
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is a team player.
• A person with strong attention to detail, good time management skills and excellent communication skills.
• Previous laboratory experience, knowledge of Work Health & Safety and medical terminology is advantageous but not necessary.
