Job summary

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is seeking pathology collectors to join the Patient Services Team. You will collect blood and non-blood samples, label specimens and guide patients through sampling procedures.

We provide training and a supportive clinical environment with a flexible, part-time roster Monday to Saturday, including weekends. You will contribute to accurate processing and patient care while developing essential clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
• Police check and Working with Children clearance required.
• First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) required prior to commencement.
• Non-negotiable minimum 25-hour commitment.

We are seeking enthusiastic Pathology Collectors to join our vibrant Patient Services Team. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:

• Collecting blood and non-blood samples from patients including conducting basic tests such as ECG and Holter Monitoring
• Following strict guidelines and procedures to ensure all samples are accurately labelled
• Guiding patients or caregivers on sampling procedures
• Preparing specimens for transportation to the laboratory

We offer a comprehensive training program suitable for medical/health science students wishing to gain valuable experience in a clinical environment whilst studying. You will learn high quality patient care and valuable clinical skills in a fast paced, flexible working environment.

• Is open to working part-time hours on a scheduled roster, Monday to Saturday (including participation in the weekend roster)
• Is passionate about healthcare and committed to providing excellent care and service to patients and doctors
• A hard-working, motivated individual with a strong work ethic
• Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• High level attention to detail and record keeping skills.
