Job summary

Responsibilities

• Support the Specimen Reception Area with accurate receipt, processing and distribution of pathology specimens.
• Perform data entry of patient demographics and pathology request information.
• Maintain work area to WHS standards and ensure equipment in the Specimen Reception Area is properly cared for.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity and confidentiality while supporting colleagues.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Aide (Support Services) to join our Laboratory in Kogarah. You will be an essential member of our team, and your responsibilities will include the following:

Supporting the Specimen Reception Area through the accurate receipt, processing and distribution of pathology specimens.

Performing data entry of patient demographics and pathology request information.

Maintaining work area to accepted standards of work health and safety and maintaining all equipment in SRA.

Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and a commitment to quality.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support within the scope of your training and capabilities.

We have a supportive learning environment; prior experience is not required. Full training will be provided.

Available to work full-time on a rotating roster between 6:30am and 9:00pm, Monday to Friday, with participation in weekend and public holiday shifts as required.

Previous laboratory experience, knowledge of Work Health & Safety and medical terminology is advantageous but not necessary.
