Job summary

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is seeking a proactive Laboratory Assistant to join the Orange NSW laboratory. You will support the Specimen Reception Area, unpack and code diagnostic samples, and assist the reception team in a fast-paced environment.

The role may be part-time to full-time with a roster that includes Monday to Friday, 11:00 am to 8:30 pm, and occasional Saturday shifts. Training is provided, with a supportive environment and benefits program.

We seek an enthusiastic Laboratory Assistant to join our Laboratory in Orange.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Support Service Officer to join our vibrant Specimen Reception Area (SRA). In this key role, you will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include:

• Unpacking and coding of diagnostic samples in our fast-paced pre-analytical area, before they are analysed in the Laboratory
• Additional duties supporting this role and the Specimen Reception team will also be required.

This role would suit someone who is open to working part-time to full-time hours, rostered Monday to Friday between 11:00 am and 8:30 pm. This could also include participation in the Saturday roster, 11:00 am–2:00 pm.

• A hard-working, motivated and reliable individual with a strong work ethic
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is a team player, with the ability to work independently
• An individual with strong attention to detail, good time management skills and excellent communication skills
• Strong computer literacy would also be an advantage
• Previous laboratory experience would be advantageous, but not essential
