Job summary

Resthaven On Quarry, proudly part of the Apollo Care Alliance, is seeking a Support Services Worker to cover part-time shifts. You will contribute to resident life through kitchen, cleaning and laundry tasks while building strong relationships with residents, families and staff.

This not-for-profit role offers a competitive hourly rate with casual loading, salary packaging up to $15,900 tax-free and meals allowance, plus an Employee Assistance Program and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role preferred.
• NDIS Check or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present dietary services, including meals and drinks.
• Assist the chef with meal preparation and general kitchen tasks.
• Distribute meals to residents and support dining room service.
• Clean resident rooms and facility as required.
• Complete documentation and reporting accurately.
• Ensure handwashing supplies are available and stocked.
• Support laundry processes including item checking and labelling.

The Role

Our Support Service Workers provide all hospitality aspects of our Aged Care home such as catering, cleaning and laundry services. Working Part-Time, you will build strong relationships with our residents, families and Care Staff contributing the optimisation of resident choice and essentially creating a strong sense of home in accordance with our values supporting our residents quality of life.

What You Will Do

• Preparation and presentation of dietary services, including meals and drinks
• Assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning and general kitchen duties
• Distribution of meals to residents & dining room services
• All aspects of cleaning throughout the resident rooms and facility
• Completing required documentation and reporting
• Ensure handwashing supplies are available and replenished
• Contribute to an effective laundry service including item checking & labelling

What You Will Bring

• Experience gained in a similar role, preferably within an Aged Care setting (not essential)
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Currently hold an NDIS Check (or willing to obtain)
• Empathetic and caring approach to our Residents
• An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes highly regarded but not essential
