Job summary

selectability is a not-for-profit charity focused on improving mental wellbeing and suicide prevention in regional Queensland. We are seeking passionate support coordinators based in Mount Isa, Doomadgee, Mornington Island, and Normanton to deliver life-changing programs.

Roles offer flexible employment options (full-time, part-time, casual) on a fixed-term until 30 June 2027, with an hourly rate and additional benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a support coordinator role (desirable).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated high level of attention to detail with consistency.
• Ability to prioritise conflicting priorities as required.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision with initiative.
• Demonstrated empathy and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with recipients, families, and service providers to develop tailored support plans.
• Monitor and evaluate recipients progress, ensuring goals are met.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
• Facilitate access to local community services and resources.
• Coordinate and attend meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress and plans.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organisations and service providers.
• Work with recipients to strengthen their ability to coordinate their own supports.
• Support and empower recipients to make their own choices.

About the role

At selectability, we are dedicated to empowering communities and enhancing individual well-being. We are seeking passionate support coordinators to join our dynamic team. Based in Mount Isa, Doomadgee, Mornington Island, and Normanton, these roles focus on delivering life-changing support programs to those in need.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• collaborating with recipients, families, and service providers to develop and implement tailored support plans
• monitoring and evaluating recipients progress, ensuring their goals are being met
• maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and documentation
• facilitating access to local community services and resources
• coordinating and attending meetings with stakeholders to discuss recipient progress and support plans
• developing and maintaining strong relationships with community organisations and service providers
• working with recipients to strengthen their ability to coordinate their own supports to live their best life
• supporting and empowering recipients to make their own choices as to how they want to lead their lives

About you

To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:

• previous experience in a support coordinator role or similar (desirable)
• excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation skills
• a demonstrated high level of attention to detail with a consistent approach
• a demonstrated ability to prioritise conflicting priorities as required
• ability to work under minimal supervision with the capacity to exercise initiative in the application of work processes and procedures and establish objectives and outcomes
• a demonstrated ability to show empathy and compassion

Role Requirements

• certificate IV in Mental Health (desirable)
• out of hours work may be required from time to time
• travel to selectability sites and external locations may be required in this role
• current nationally recognised first aid and CPR certificates (or ability to obtain within the first month of employment)
• a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain prior to commencing)
• a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability or obtain prior to commencement)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)
• a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence
• roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance
