Job summary

You will build relationships with transport providers, book freight, monitor contractor performance, ensure timely shipping, and optimise processes while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation in a coordinating/operational role preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with transport companies, storage facilities and customers.
• Book freight and orders with transport companies or 3PLs.
• Coordinate daily activities of freight contractors and monitor performance.
• Check orders and invoices for accuracy and maintain records.
• Ensure orders are shipped on time with key stakeholders.
• Assist team to ship orders within permitted time and resolve freight issues promptly.
• Analyse and optimise logistics processes and negotiate with freight contractors.
• Understand current freight rates for allocated markets and handle freight invoicing.
• Participate in other freight operations as required.

On behalf of our client, Global Skilled Employment Services is currently looking for a talented and motivated Supply Chain Manager to join a dynamic team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Building effective relationships with external stakeholders, through written and verbal liaison with transport companies’ personnel, storage facilities and customers.
• Booking Freight/Orders with the relevant transport companies or 3PLs.
• Coordinate freight contractors’ daily activities for the Company and monitor performance.
• Check orders and invoices for integrity and maintain records for accuracy.
• Working with key stakeholders to ensure orders are shipped and delivered on time.
• Assisting other team members to ensure orders are shipped within the permitted time.
• Promptly resolve freight issues as they arise.
• Analyse and optimise the Company’s logistics processes.
• Negotiate with freight contractors and stay informed on developments to minimise costs.
• Understand current freight rates for your allocated markets.
• Process freight claims and invoicing.
• Be involved in all other aspects of freight operations.
• Contribute to key business activities as required.
• Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, processes, and work instructions at all times.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation, particularly in a coordinating or operational role, is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, prioritize activities, and meet deadlines.
• Meticulous attention to detail to maintain accuracy in documentation and inventory management.
• Proactive problem-solving skills to address challenges and find efficient solutions.
• Familiarity with logistics software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle unforeseen circumstances in the logistics process.
• Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles, transportation regulations, and best practices.
