Job summary

John Holland is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor for the Waterfront Project in Brisbane. You will lead a ~30-person crew from 3:00pm to 1:00am, coordinating daily site activities for safety, efficiency and alignment with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising structural works on major construction projects (>$300m).
• Strong understanding of construction methods and site operations.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and design documentation.

• Drive a strong safety, health, and environmental culture across all works.
• Plan and manage daily, weekly, and short-term construction activities.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
• Prepare and deliver accurate progress reports, shift handovers, and project updates.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and commercial performance within delegated authority.
• Review drawings, designs, and project documentation to support successful delivery.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while promoting proactive risk management.
• Develop and lead site personnel, manage subcontractor performance, and ensure compliance with contractual, industrial, and company requirements.

About The Role:

As our Night Shift Supervisor on the Waterfront Project, you will be leading and supporting a workforce of approximately 30 personnel across the 3:00pm to 1:00am shift. You will be responsible for coordinating daily site activities to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.Initially overseeing structural works, steel installation, subcontractor coordination and work sequencing, before transitioning into the fit-out phase of the project. The role works closely with project teams and site stakeholders to maintain productivity, address on-site challenges, and support the successful delivery of key project milestones.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience supervising structural works on major construction projects ($300mill up)
• Strong understanding of construction methods and site operations.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Experience leading subcontractors, suppliers, and site crews.
• Sound knowledge of safety, quality, and construction compliance requirements.
• Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to drive productivity and meet programme milestones.
• Relevant construction qualification and White Card.
