Job summary

John Holland is recruiting a Night Shift Supervisor for the Waterfront Brisbane project. You will lead and support a workforce of around 30 personnel across the 3:00pm to 1:00am shift, coordinating daily site activities to ensure safe, efficient delivery of structural works and later fit-out.

Initially overseeing structural works and steel installation, you will manage subcontractors, maintain productivity, and report progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Carpentry, Formwork, Concrete, Structural Steel, or similar.
• Experience supervising structural works on major construction projects ($300 million+)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and design documentation.
• Experience leading subcontractors, suppliers and site crews.
• Strong knowledge of safety, quality and construction compliance requirements.
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant construction qualification and White Card.

• Lead and coordinate teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
• Drive a strong safety, health, and environmental culture across all works.
• Plan and manage daily, weekly, and short-term construction activities.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
• Prepare and deliver accurate progress reports, shift handovers, and project updates.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and commercial performance within delegated authority.
• Review drawings, designs, and project documentation to support successful delivery.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while promoting proactive risk management.
• Develop and lead site personnel, manage subcontractor performance, and ensure compliance with contractual, industrial, and company requirements.

About The Role:

As our Night Shift Supervisor on the Waterfront Project, you will be leading and supporting a workforce of approximately 30 personnel across the 3:00pm to 1:00am shift. You will be responsible for coordinating daily site activities to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements. Initially overseeing structural works, steel installation, subcontractor coordination and work sequencing, before transitioning into the fit-out phase of the project. The role works closely with project teams and site stakeholders to maintain productivity, address on-site challenges, and support the successful delivery of key project milestones.
