Job summary

Delaware North Australia is seeking a full-time Functions Supervisor to join the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) team. You will oversee event setup, service and pack-down, coordinating with kitchens, sales and operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences at this iconic venue.

Lead a team across dining areas, meetings and banquets, set up spaces to client specifications, conduct pre-event checks and manage timelines to ensure events run smoothly.

• Demonstrated experience in functions supervision and events.
• Proven leadership experience in large multi-function venues.
• Ability to mentor, train and develop a team of hospitality professionals.
• Passionate about further enhancing service offerings and continuous improvement.
• Enthusiastic about service, able to work in a fast-paced environment and create a friendly guest atmosphere.
• Experience developing positive stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
• Ability to work varied hours to meet business demands.

• Coordinate and supervise event setup, service and pack-down activities.
• Set up dining areas, cafés, meeting rooms, conference spaces, banquet halls and venues according to client requirements.
• Ensure tables, chairs, linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware, buffet stations, coffee stations, and service areas are correctly arranged.
• Conduct pre-event inspections to ensure venue presentation and operational readiness.
• Manage event timelines and ensure all activities run according to schedule.

As Functions Supervisor, you will be working closely with the functions, sales, and operations teams, including kitchens, to use your expertise to oversee various functions. You will be driving exceptional guest service in this thriving sporting and entertainment venue.
