Job summary

Delaware North Australia is hiring a Kitchen Steward to maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The role supports the culinary team, ensuring an organised workspace and efficient operations across varied shifts.

Ideal candidates have basic cooking skills, a Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one), and a collaborative approach within a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Experience as Kitchen Hand preferred.
• Willing to obtain Food Safety Certificate if not held.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
• Ensure WHS compliance by conducting temperature and quality checks and managing cross-contamination.
• Support kitchen staff in maintaining an organised and efficient workspace.
• Perform hands-on cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, washing dishes and waste management.
• Show flexibility in working various shifts over a 7-day roster.

As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring cleanliness, order, and efficiency in the kitchen; contributing to the smooth functioning of the kitchen operations. You will excel as a Kitchen Steward if you have fundamental cooking skills and a comprehensive understanding of kitchen safety.
