Australian International Islamic College is seeking a dedicated Wellbeing Officer to provide practical, non-clinical support to students, under the Head of Pastoral Care. The role focuses on wellbeing, belonging and social-emotional development within AIIC's Islamic ethos.

Responsibilities include mentoring, referrals to wellbeing services, collaborating with teachers and parents, and maintaining records in approved College systems. Queensland Blue Card compliance is required.

Competenze

• Relevant qualifications in youth work, community services, education support, social work, or counselling or a related field.
• Experience supporting children or young people in school, youth service or community settings.
• Understanding of child safety, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Strong interpersonal, recordkeeping and organisational skills across diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to Islamic ethos and model adab, compassion, respect and responsibility.

• Maintain a visible and approachable presence with scheduled check-ins and wellbeing support.
• Identify emerging concerns and refer promptly through agreed pathways.
• Listen and help students identify trusted adults and encourage help-seeking.
• Contribute to student support plans with relevant professionals.
• Record progress and participate in case meetings and handovers.
• Assist with referrals to wellbeing services and follow up actions.
• Monitor attendance and engagement and coordinate with staff.
• Support wellbeing activities, small groups, transitions and peer leadership.
• Communicate with parents using College procedures.
• Maintain secure records of student contact and actions.
