Job summary

Queensland Department of Education – Coombabah State High School seeks a Student Support Officer to enhance student wellbeing, attendance and engagement. You will collaborate with students, families and Elders to identify needs and implement targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting student wellbeing and attendance initiatives.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families and Elders.
• Proven skills in mediating conflict and applying restorative practices.

Responsibilities

• Improve data collection and management systems to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with students, families, community members and Elders.
• Engage with students and families through communication and home visits to encourage school attendance and identify concerns.
• Monitor student wellbeing and behaviour and coordinate interventions with the school team.
• Promote a safe, caring environment and facilitate open communication to strengthen relationships.
