Job summary

Albany Senior High School (SHS) seeks a Student Support Officer to join our Student Services team. This permanent full-time role supports attendance, engagement and wellbeing, in a welcoming, inclusive environment that values every student.

The successful applicant will work with students, families and staff to ensure students feel known, valued and supported. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and the ability to use Microsoft Office and student information systems

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, families and staff.
• Good digital literacy and ability to use MS Office and student records systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support student attendance and engagement, monitoring patterns and assisting improvement strategies.
• Provide a welcoming first point of contact for students accessing Student Services.
• Build positive relationships with students, families and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Coordinate Student Services through accurate record keeping and information systems.
• Demonstrate initiative, manage competing priorities and adapt to a busy school environment.
• Collaborate with staff to support attendance, engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
