Job summary

Esperance Senior High School is seeking a Student Support Officer to join the Student Services team. The role combines student wellbeing support, attendance and engagement work, event coordination, student leadership development, and day-to-day administration.

You will be the first point of contact for students, building positive relationships and connecting them with staff and services. A focus on improving attendance and engagement while maintaining confidential records is essential.

Qualifications

• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
• Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
• Consent to undergo a screening clearance and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

Responsibilities

• Join the Student Services team as a Student Support Officer.
• Be the first point of contact for students seeking support and build positive relationships with young people.
• Assist with improving attendance, engagement and wellbeing, and coordinate wellbeing initiatives and lunchtime engagement activities.
• Balance student support with a broad range of administrative responsibilities including maintaining confidential student records and coordinating communications.
• Promote a positive school culture and support the Student Council and whole-school wellbeing programs.
