Job summary

Hunter Sports High School is seeking a dedicated Student Support Officer to help enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes. You will join the wellbeing team and counselling service to provide targeted support and participate in whole-school wellbeing initiatives.

You will collaborate with external agencies to create referral pathways for students and families, ensuring timely access to support services and programs that promote positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline is required.
• Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required.
• Knowledge of the Department’s Aboriginal education policies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and school counselling service.
• Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and contribute to whole-school wellbeing initiatives and programs.
• Collaborate with external agencies and create referral pathways for students and families to child and family support services.
