Job summary

MidCoast Council in NSW invites a Student Planner to join our Land Use Planning or Development Assessment teams. This paid student role offers practical experience while pursuing a planning qualification.

You'll work alongside professionals, contribute to development assessments, and access an education package of $10,000 to support your qualification. Successful candidates commence Feb 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Town Planning or Urban and Regional Planning course in an Australian university.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic studies and workplace learning.
• Positive, collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Undertake development assessment duties within the Development Assessment Team.
• Contribute to planning projects, policies, strategies and plans within Land Use Planning.
• Engage with Council, stakeholders and the community to support planning initiatives.
• Learn on the job while contributing to a 2-year fixed term program.
