Job summary

City of Ryde is offering a Student Planner position to support the Development Advisory and Insights team. The role is permanent part-time (21 hours per week) and involves planning research, development trend analysis and housing/employment growth monitoring using GIS, planning databases and the NSW Planning Portal.

You'll gain exposure to planning policy, growth forecasting and urban research while learning from experienced planners and balancing university commitments in a real-world council

Qualifications

• Currently studying Town Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, GIS, Urban Design or related discipline.
• Developing analytical capability and interest in planning research.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning research, development trend analysis and monitoring of housing and employment growth.
• Work with planning databases, GIS systems, the NSW Planning Portal and other analytical tools.
• Support planning projects and policy development.
• Gain exposure to planning policy, growth forecasting and urban research.
