MidCoast Council in NSW invites a Student Planner to join our Land Use Planning or Development Assessment teams. This paid student role offers practical experience while pursuing a planning qualification.

The Opportunity

Are you currently studying Town Planning or Urban and Regional Planning, or interested in pursuing a career in the planning field?


MidCoast Council now has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Student Planner to join our Land Use Planning or Development Assessment Team.


In addition to learning as you earn, the Student Planner will have access to an education package of $10,000 to assist in completing a planning qualification.


The Student Planner will contribute to interactions between Council, stakeholders, and the community and will undertake development assessment duties within the Development Assessment Team, and contribute to the development and implementation of planning projects, policies, strategies and plans within the Land Use Planning Team.


The successful candidate will be conscientious and committed to learning within a collaborative team environment, and will demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in planning.

What you'll bring:

What we offer

Salary: Salary range $32,500 to $55,300 in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.


Your salary will be determined based on your age, qualifications, and any previous work experience. Superannuation (12%) is additional.


Location: MidCoast Council's Administration and Customer Service Centre on 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You will also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.


Tenure:



  • 2-year fixed term

  • Full-time 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
