Job summary

Sports College South Australia – St Clair NSW is seeking a dedicated Student Mentor for its Basketball Program in 2027 at our St Clair venue. You will support student success, lead development workshops, and collaborate with staff to create a positive learning environment.

You will deliver the SCSA Student Development and Pathways program, organise work placements, and run inclusive practical sessions with a focus on football, while promoting industry connections and community projects.

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring young people and supporting their development.
• Ability to plan, deliver and review student development programs.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse range of students, parents and staff.
• Understanding of curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements.
• Ability to engage students in sport-focused activities, especially football.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver the SCSA Student Development and Pathways Program, including workshops and 1:1 meetings.
• Lead Pathway Preparation Day plans and assist students with work placements.
• Move around the room, support students during class, and liaise with teachers.
• Promote inclusion and encourage student interaction and engagement.
• Run inclusive practical sessions with a focus on football.
• Organise Community Impact Days and promote industry experience for students.
• Maintain attendance data and participate in Attendance Intervention Processes.
