Job summary

INFORM is seeking an experienced Structural Formwork Foreman to lead formwork operations on major Sydney construction sites. This full-time role focuses on planning, supervising installation and removal, and delivering work safely and to high quality standards.

You will manage skilled crews, conduct toolbox talks, and coordinate with engineers and managers to meet project deadlines while controlling costs and ensuring compliance with Australian standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in structural formwork supervision or formwork operations in construction.
• Proven track record leading formwork teams on medium to large projects.
• Strong knowledge of formwork systems, materials, methods and industry best practices.
• Understanding of structural drawings, specifications and building codes for formwork installation.
• Valid Construction White Card or willingness to obtain one.
• NLEVEL or equivalent supervisory qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

INFORM is seeking an experienced and dynamic Structural Formwork Foreman to join our construction team in Sydney NSW. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to lead and manage formwork operations on significant structural projects. As the Structural Formwork Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of formwork installation, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. This role is pivotal to our operational success and offers the chance to manage a skilled team whilst maintaining our reputation for excellence in the construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise the installation and removal of structural formwork systems on construction sites
• Manage and direct formwork teams, ensuring all personnel understand project requirements, safety protocols and quality standards
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings and site inductions to promote a strong safety culture
• Liaise with project managers, structural engineers and other trades to ensure seamless coordination and adherence to specifications
• Monitor formwork quality, accuracy and structural integrity throughout all project phases
• Prepare and maintain daily reports, timesheets and site documentation
• Ensure all work complies with Australian Safety Standards, building codes and company procedures
• Identify potential risks and implement preventative measures to maintain a safe working environment
• Manage materials, equipment and resources efficiently to minimise waste and control costs
• Mentor and develop formwork operatives, contributing to their skills and career progression

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in structural formwork supervision or formwork operations within the construction industry
• Proven track record of successfully managing formwork teams on medium to large-scale construction projects
• Comprehensive knowledge of formwork systems, materials, methods and industry best practices
• Strong understanding of structural drawings, specifications and building codes applicable to formwork design and installation
• Valid Construction White Card (Induction to Work on Construction Sites) or willingness to obtain one
• NLEVEL or equivalent supervisory qualification in construction or formwork (preferred)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams
• Proficient in health and safety practices with a commitment to accident prevention and zero-harm culture
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work varying hours including early starts, weekends and extended shifts when project demands require
• Ability to work in all weather conditions at heights and in confined spaces
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to different project sites across Sydney
