Job summary

TTW invites a Structural Engineer to join our Canberra team. This role is ideal for engineers with 4+ years of post-graduate experience who want to expand expertise across diverse projects and take on greater responsibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Member of Engineers Australia, CPEng/NER.
• 5–6 years’ experience in a similar role with timber experience desirable.
• Software: Etabs, Spacegass, RAM, RAPT.
• Intermediate MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Site experience on at least one building project.
• Ability to prioritise incoming work.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem solving/analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to devise practical and economical solutions.
• Produce designs, documentation, specifications, fee proposals, reports for projects of reasonable complexity.
• Prepare client reports.
• Assume responsibility for small, medium and some large-scale projects including pricing, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Codes and policies– e.g. WHS practices and Quality Assurance.
• Check structural engineers’ work and provide technical guidance.

In this role, you will:

• Apply a deep understanding of engineering principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems.
• Produce designs, documentation, specifications, fee proposals, reports and other documentation to meet client requirements for projects of reasonable complexity.

Who are we looking for

This role is ideally suited to someone with:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Member of Engineers Australia, CPEng/NER
• At least 5 /6 years’ experience in a similar role with timber experience is very desirable
• Software: Etabs, Spacegass, RAM, RAPT
• Intermediate MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Site experience highly desirable – at least one building project with site attendance
• Ability to prioritise incoming work appropriately
• Excellent attention to detail
• Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
