Job summary

TTW in North Sydney is seeking a Senior TEKLA Drafter with extensive reinforcement detailing experience. You will produce 3D reinforcement models, shop drawings, bar schedules and related documentation using Tekla Structures across large-scale projects.

The role involves detailing for multi-storey towers, hospitals and data centres, coordinating with engineers, architects and site teams, and mentoring junior drafters to uplift project delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in reinforcement detailing and bar scheduling.
• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures for reinforcement modelling and detailing.
• Diploma or equivalent in Civil, Structural Engineering, Drafting or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards for reinforced concrete detailing.
• Experience delivering reinforcement detailing packages for large-scale RC projects.
• Ability to interpret complex structural and architectural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality reinforcement shop drawings and placing drawings.
• Generate accurate reinforcement bar schedules and bar bending schedules.
• Detail reinforcement for footings, raft slabs, columns, beams and walls.
• Review drawings and design documentation for accuracy and constructability.
• Liaise with structural engineers, architects, builders and suppliers.
• Mentor junior drafters and participate in project coordination meetings.

Currently we are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior TEKLA Drafter with experience in reinforcement detailing, bar scheduling, and reinforced concrete documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate 3D reinforcement models, reinforcement shop drawings, bar bending schedules, and associated documentation using Tekla Structures for a diverse range of large-scale construction projects.

We are looking for candidates with experience working on complex reinforced concrete structures, including, multi-storey commercial towers, high-rise residential developments, hospitals and healthcare facilities, schools and educational institutions, data centres and other commercial and industrial buildings.

What will the day-to-day look like?

• Produce high-quality reinforcement shop drawings and placing drawings.
• Generate accurate reinforcement bar schedules, bar bending schedules, and material take-offs.
• Detail reinforcement for footings and pile caps, raft slabs, basement structures, transfer slabs, suspended slabs, columns, core walls, retaining walls, beams, precast elements, in-situ concrete structures
• Ensure all reinforcement detailing is practical, buildable, and compliant with project specifications.
• Review and interpret structural engineering drawings, speci9cations, and design documentation.
• Liaise with structural engineers, architects, builders, reinforcement suppliers, and site personnel.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts, reinforcement congestion issues, and constructability challenges.
• Participate in project coordination and BIM meetings as required.
• Perform detailed checking and quality reviews of reinforcement models, drawings, and schedules.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate drafters, assisting with training and onboarding of new team members.

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be capable of independently managing reinforcement detailing projects from commencement through to construction, while collaborating closely with structural engineers, builders, project managers, fabricators, and site teams. As a senior member of the drafting team, the role will also involve mentoring junior detailers, conducting quality reviews, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree, or equivalent quali9cation in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting, Building Design, Construction Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in reinforcement detailing and bar scheduling.
• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures for reinforcement modelling and detailing.
• Extensive experience delivering reinforcement detailing packages for large-scale reinforced concrete projects.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete construction methods and detailing principles.
• Thorough understanding of Australian Standards and reinforcement detailing requirements.
• Ability to interpret complex structural and architectural documentation.
• Demonstrated experience producing reinforcement shop drawings, bar bending schedules, material take-offs, tonnage reports, construction issue documentation
• Demonstrated experience in Tekla Structures (Essential), REVIT (Desirable), Navisworks (Desirable), BIM collaboration platforms & Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
