Job summary

Department of Defence in Australia is seeking a Workforce Officer to join the Joint Operations Command (JOC) Group. You will provide strategic advice to JOC senior leadership and help shape the APS and ADF workforce, focusing on growth and culture across Defence.

You'll collaborate with APS, ADF, and contractors to manage recruitment and workforce planning, develop staffing strategies, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to deliver outcomes for Defence programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in workforce planning and management
• Ability to develop documentation and materials for workforce strategies
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills
• Experience with recruitment activities

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of strategies to mitigate workforce risks.
• Manage APS/ADF position establishments and reporting.
• Build relationships with Defence and external organisations.
• Analyze workforce data across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons.
• Support Defence stakeholders with workforce planning across the capability lifecycle.
• Coordinate recruitment activities for the JOC Group.
