Job summary

Geelong Careers is partnered with a local regional Council to recruit a leader for the People and Culture team. The role focuses on bridging strategic workforce analytics with policy governance, delivering the Workforce Plan, and coordinating Gender Equality Action Plan obligations.

The candidate will analyze workforce trends, ensure policies are modern and compliant, and manage governance frameworks, documentation, and templates to support executive decision-making.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in workforce planning, data analysis, and policy formulation.
• Knowledge of Victorian employment legislation, statutory compliance, and industrial instruments.
• Strong written communication skills with experience drafting formal briefing papers for executive-level audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, monitoring, and review of the organization's Workforce Plan.
• Formulate, update, and review People and Culture policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Coordinate statutory reporting and initiatives under the Gender Equality Action Plan.
• Analyze workforce data, demographics, and metrics to produce high-quality executive briefings.
• Maintain intranet P&C resources, standard employment documentation, and contract templates.
