Job summary

University of Sydney is seeking an experienced Service Delivery Manager for a fixed-term opportunity within the Service Excellence Program. The role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across university-wide transformation initiatives, shaping outcomes to benefit staff, students, and the wider community.

In this leadership position, you will drive continuous improvement, manage risk, and embed service design and operating models to drive excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale transformation programs.
• Ability to apply service design methods to scalable operating models.
• Strong governance and risk management capabilities.
• Experience collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of higher education sector context is preferred.
• Familiarity with delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
• Proven ability to guide teams with autonomy and strategic alignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of defined program streams with scope, timelines, and quality.
• Champion service design to align with the service blueprint and operating model.
• Coordinate teams across functions with autonomy and clear accountability.
• Govern stream-specific delivery frameworks; tailor governance to project complexity.
• Partner with senior leaders to align delivery with program outcomes.
