Job summary

Queensland Department of Education is seeking a motivated Business Manager for Wellington Point State School in Queensland. The role focuses on delivering administrative, financial and human resource services to support educational management and drive systemic improvements within the school community.

The position involves autonomous operation of business services, budget preparation and day-to-day financial tasks, payroll, purchasing and reporting.

Responsibilities

• You will oversee the delivery of administrative, financial and human resource support, including the supervision of lower-level school support staff.
• You will need to operate autonomously in the provision of business services to the school, in an environment that at times exhibits a degree of complexity and frequently requires the interpretation of information and adaption of processes.
• The preparation and administration of the budget, undertaking day to day financial activities (reviewing school expenditure, managing payroll and purchasing, producing financial reports from OneSchool); seeking external expert financial advice, proposing alternatives for managing the school's financial resources.
• Monitor and provide advice to the Principal on facilities and ground maintenance, manage the purchase, repair of resources/equipment in accordance with guidelines and identify opportunities to generate greater resource sustainability.
• Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills, empathy, self-awareness and the ability to build trust when dealing with sensitive situations.
