Job summary

AECOM seeks an experienced Project Risk Manager to lead risk management across a major infrastructure portfolio in Queensland, supporting the Brisbane 2032 program. You will embed risk practices within planning and delivery, coordinating with project directors, managers and delivery teams.

Responsibilities include establishing risk registers, facilitating risk workshops, and ensuring risk information flows to program and enterprise levels, with strong stakeholder engagement and governance

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in risk management, project management, engineering, construction, business or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in project risk management across major infrastructure, capital works or complex project delivery environments.
• Experience working within government, statutory authorities or other highly regulated environments.
• Proven capability in risk registers, risk assessments, treatment planning and facilitating risk workshops.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify emerging risks, trends and changes in project exposure.
• Sound understanding of project controls and the relationship between risk, cost, schedule, scope and commercial delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, constructively challenge and translate complex risks into practical advice.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, manage, monitor and report project risks across the project lifecycle.
• Establish and maintain project risk registers with risks, causes, consequences, risk ratings, controls and owners.
• Plan and facilitate risk workshops, reviews and deep dives with project teams.
• Integrate risk management with project scope, schedule, cost, procurement and delivery activities.
• Develop practical and measurable risk treatments and monitor their implementation.
• Escalate material or emerging risks and flow risk information to program and enterprise processes.
• Provide clear risk reporting and analysis for stakeholders.
• Guide project teams to apply GIICA’s risk management framework and risk appetite across activities.
