Job summary

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Strong supplier negotiation, contract management, and commercial decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of domestic and international sourcing and purchasing procedures.
• Understanding of procurement budgeting, cost control, and expenditure monitoring.
• Experience in inventory management, supplier coordination, and delivery scheduling.
• Strong analytical, organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
• Ability to assess supplier performance, manage procurement risks, and coordinate multiple purchasing activities.
• Familiarity with procurement software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and review procurement strategies, policies, and procedures in line with company objectives.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage purchasing activities to ensure the timely supply of required goods and materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on product quality, pricing, reliability, and delivery capabilities.
• Negotiate supplier contracts, purchase prices, payment terms, and delivery conditions to achieve favourable commercial outcomes.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with domestic and international suppliers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues relating to product quality, delivery delays, pricing, and contractual obligations.
• Prepare and manage procurement budgets, monitor expenditure, and identify opportunities to reduce purchasing costs.
• Coordinate purchase orders, stock requirements, shipment schedules, and delivery arrangements with relevant stakeholders.
• Analyse market trends, supplier pricing, product availability, and purchasing requirements to support informed procurement decisions.
• Review inventory levels and coordinate replenishment requirements to maintain adequate stock availability.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier agreements, purchase orders, invoices, and expenditure reports.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable Australian laws, relevant import requirements, contractual obligations, and company policies.
• Assess procurement risks and develop strategies to minimise supply disruptions and maintain continuity of business operations.
• Prepare procurement reports and provide management with recommendations regarding supplier selection, purchasing costs, and operational improvements.
