Job description

We are a wholesale importer and distributor supplying products to customers across Australia. As our supply chain and domestic distribution network continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

This role focuses on logistics and operations procurement. Working with our Procurement Specialist who sources our products, you will be responsible for procuring international freight, domestic transport, and logistics services.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate freight forwarders, shipping lines, 3PL providers and domestic transport suppliers.
• Negotiate freight rates, contracts and service terms with logistics suppliers.
• Work with procurement, warehouse and operations teams to coordinate logistics requirements and capacity.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor service performance.
• Review freight costs and analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Identify and resolve supplier, service and operational issues, and recommend improvements where needed.
• Ensure logistics suppliers meet relevant customs, import and biosecurity requirements.

About You

• At least 3 years’ experience in procurement, logistics, freight or supply chain.
• Experience working with international freight and domestic transport providers.
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills, with a focus on cost and value.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supplier management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• A relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain, logistics, business or a related field is preferred.
