Job summary

City of Stonnington is recruiting an Enterprise Strategist/Strategy Business Partner to drive the centre of strategy development, turning complex challenges and community insights into actionable directions and outcomes for the Council and its communities.

You will partner across Council to scope, develop and monitor strategies aligned with the Council Plan, providing practical advice, coaching and leadership in strategic planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in public policy, planning or business.
• Substantial strategy development and corporate planning experience.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Strong synthesis and strategic thinking.
• Practical project management capability.
• Experience in local government or a comparable complex organisation.
• Ability to analyse complex issues and provide policy options and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Scope, develop, review and monitor strategies and action plans, clarifying issues, outcomes and decisions.
• Incorporate research, data, community insights and stakeholder perspectives to identify what matters and options.
• Draft and edit strategies, reports and briefings while maintaining accountability of documents and recommendations.
• Establish milestones, momentum, deadlines and governance processes for Strategy Framework.
• Provide coaching, tools and facilitation on strategy scoping, development, review and monitoring.
• Assist in reviewing and improving the Strategy Framework, templates and planning processes with staff feedback.
• Lead or coordinate strategic initiatives and cross-organisational projects as agreed with the Manager.
• Define project scope, intended outcomes, deliverables, milestones, roles and resources.
