Job summary

City of Stonnington is seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner to lead OHS across the organisation from Malvern with hybrid work options. You will develop strategy, provide expert advice on risk, and champion a safety-first culture.

You will coach leaders, implement training, measure safety performance with lead indicators, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with OHS legislation.

Qualifications

• Degree or Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Professional certification and/or AIHS membership desirable.
• 5–7+ years in a senior Health & Safety or OHS role.
• Strong knowledge of OHS legislation, risk management and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy aligned to objectives.
• Provide expert advice on workplace safety, risk and wellbeing practices.
• Partner with senior leaders to establish safety performance measures and data insights.
• Lead design, delivery and evaluation of safety training programs.
• Champion a safety-first culture through collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Oversee risk management frameworks to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Coordinate audits, inspections and risk assessments across departments.
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act, regs and policies.
• Oversee incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Manage relationships with external providers and regulatory bodies.
• Support contractor management and safety assurance activities.
• Provide regular reporting on safety performance and emerging risks.
• Coach leaders to strengthen safety leadership capability.
