Job summary

Southern Grampians Shire Council seeks a dynamic Manager Economic Development and Tourism to lead the council's growth agenda in Hamilton, Victoria. You will shape strategies, attract investment, diversify agriculture, and strengthen visitor economy partnerships.

You’ll lead a small team and work with regional partners to secure funding and deliver practical programs that support local businesses and community growth.

Qualifications

• Commercial mindset with experience attracting investment and delivering economic outcomes.

• Knowledge of government programs and funding mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Lead Council’s economic development and tourism functions.
• Develop and deliver Economic Development and Visitor Economy Strategies.
• Produce an investment prospectus to attract businesses.
• Attract new industry and diversify agriculture.
• Build relationships with small businesses and key partners.
• Identify and secure external funding and manage grants.
• Raise the profile of visitor information centres and lead a team.
