Job summary

Burnie Brae Ltd in Brisbane is seeking a Governance, Risk and Safety Specialist to lead governance, compliance, risk and WHS across the organisation. This hands-on role collaborates with service managers, HR and the leadership team to translate legislation into practical systems that work on the ground.

The successful candidate will have aged care/NDIS experience, strong governance and risk skills, and the ability to develop, implement and monitor WHS policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care and/or NDIS settings including SIRS and Quality Standards.
• Experience in governance, risk management and compliance.
• Experience developing and monitoring WHS and organisational risk systems.
• Experience in policy development, internal audits and reporting to senior management.
• Strong communication skills and collaboration across levels.
• Confidence delivering training to diverse groups.
• A WHS qualification (Cert IV, Diploma or tertiary).
• Experience conducting investigations or root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Governance and compliance: maintain policies, prepare reports, monitor changes, oversee contractor compliance.
• Risk management: maintain risk framework and register, coordinate assessments, embed risk awareness.
• WHS: lead WHS compliance, audits, training, psychosocial hazards, drills.
• Incidents and complaints: manage systems including SIRS reporting and investigations.
