Job summary

Aboriginal Legal Service NSW/ACT invites applications for Governance, Risk and Compliance Lead in Redfern, NSW. The role oversees enterprise risk, compliance, and assurance, coordinating risk assessments, control reviews and audits, and reporting to executives and governance Forums.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in GRC, strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, and experience with GRC systems and Power BI; a commitment to culturally safe, community-informed practice is

Qualifications

Experience in governance, risk, compliance, assurance, or audit.
Understanding of enterprise risk management and ISO 31000 framework is desirable.
Experience maintaining risk registers, action plans and reporting.

Responsibilities

Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ALS’s risk, compliance, and assurance frameworks.
Coordinate risk assessments and maintain risk and compliance registers.
Coordinate assurance activities, control reviews and audits, tracking findings and remediation.
Prepare reports, dashboards and insights for management and governance forums.
Support governance, business continuity, resilience, and incident management activities.
Help build a culture of risk and compliance through guidance and training.
