Job summary

The Lucas Group is recruiting an experienced Grain Buyer based in Horsham, Victoria. You’ll manage timely, cost-effective grain buying, receival and related logistics across the Wimmera/Western VIC region.

Own your patch, work with growers, and contribute to an international supply chain. This role offers growth in grain procurement and exposure to export activities within a globally connected agrifood business.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of grain markets, pricing and contracting.
• Desire to grow commodity trading experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Enthusiasm for agriculture and working with growers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage long-term relationships with growers and suppliers.
• Develop and execute grain procurement strategies.
• Monitor markets, crop forecasts, supply and pricing to identify opportunities.
• Coordinate supply, logistics, storage and receivals.
• Work closely with QA, Operations and Export teams.
• Represent the company at grower, industry and regional events.
