About the Role

Due to the ongoing growth of the business, we are currently recruiting a Grains Purchasing Officer to join our Northern Commodity Team in a full‑time capacity. Reporting to the Commodity Purchasing Manager, the Grains Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, contracting and coordinating the supply of grain commodities to meet operational, customer and strategic business requirements.

This role supports commercial outcomes by building strong relationships with growers and suppliers, monitoring market conditions, negotiating competitive pricing and ensuring timely and compliant contract execution. The position works closely with logistics, quality and trading teams to secure a reliable, cost‑effective grain supply aligned with production and sales needs.

You will also collaborate closely with other departments across the business, including feedlots to understand inventory and future requirements, farms to assess production forecasts, and finance and accounting teams to support accurate reporting and commercial outcomes.

You bring a strong commercial mindset, a willingness to learn, and the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse stakeholder group. You are comfortable working with numbers, market information and contracts, and enjoy contributing to collaborative, cross‑functional teams.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience within Australian grains or agricultural supply chains
  • Familiarity with commodity contracting, pricing mechanisms, and logistics systems
  • Knowledge of grain quality standards and seasonal supply dynamics
