Job summary

Department of Customer Service is seeking a Commercial Manager – Grade 11/12 to lead strategic procurement, commercial and contract management across NSW’s critical telecommunications projects. Qualifications

• Essential Security Clearance: able to obtain and retain minimum baseline clearance within six months.
• Experience leading complex, high-value procurement and commercial activities from strategy through to contract management.
• Strong capability in strategic sourcing, commercial negotiation, contract management and procurement risk management.
• Understanding procurement governance, probity, legislative and policy requirements, ideally in government or regulated environments.
• Proven ability to identify and manage commercial, contractual, financial and supply chain risks while delivering value-for-money.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including engagement with senior executives.
• Proven people leadership capability including coaching and team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement, commercial and contract management across a portfolio of high-value initiatives.
• Develop category plans, sourcing strategies and commercial approaches that deliver value-for-money outcomes.
• Lead complex procurement processes, evaluations, negotiations and contract execution.
• Provide expert commercial, procurement and risk advice to executives and stakeholders.
• Establish contract management frameworks, supplier governance and performance measures.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and government agencies, driving continuous improvement.
• Lead, coach and develop the Commercial Operations team with accountability for delivery and governance.
