Job summary

NSW Department of Customer Service in Sydney is seeking a procurement professional to drive strategic procurement and sourcing initiatives, including contract development and supplier performance oversight.

You will partner with cross‑functional teams, apply probity principles, and navigate NSW Government procurement policies to deliver value and improved services for the people of NSW. This hybrid role requires in‑office presence 2–3 days per week.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate must demonstrate strategic thinking and innovative approaches to procurement and commercial challenges.
• Experience in strategic procurement, sourcing and contract management initiatives that deliver business value.
• Strong end-to-end procurement lifecycle knowledge including planning, market analysis, tendering and negotiations.
• Understanding of procurement governance, probity principles and relevant NSW Government frameworks.
• Ability to influence demand management strategies and navigate complex policy environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience leading medium to high-value procurement activities and supplier performance oversight.
• Candidates with around four years in technology procurement and sourcing are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Undertake business needs assessment, supply market analysis and commercial risk assessments to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions.
• Develop, coordinate and lead sourcing activities to establish supply arrangements that meet business needs.
• Develop and support contract management plans, negotiate changes, manage supplier performance and ensure compliance.
• Provide governance and guidance to build procurement expertise across the organisation and improve outcomes.
