Job summary

MIRAIT Technologies Australia is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the financial control function and provide clear commercial insight across the business. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, compliance, governance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA or equivalent recognised professional qualification.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and statutory compliance.
• Sound knowledge of Australian accounting, taxation and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing a finance team.
• The ability to work effectively with senior leaders, operational teams and international stakeholders.
• Strong financial analysis skills and the judgement to translate financial information into practical commercial advice.
• Strong systems capability, including advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• An improvement-focused approach and experience strengthening financial systems, processes or reporting.

Responsibilities

• Managing monthly and annual financial reporting and consolidation.
• Ensuring reporting meets divisional requirements and Australian Accounting Standards.
• Leading the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes in partnership with senior leaders.
• Managing cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, transactions and approvals.
• Ensuring funding supports operational and capital requirements.
• Providing clear analysis of financial performance, trends and risks to support executive and board-level decision-making.
• Managing group taxation and regulatory obligations in consultation with external advisers.
• Maintaining an effective internal control, governance and internal audit framework.
• Identifying and delivering improvements across finance systems, reporting and processes.
• Supporting greater efficiency and automation across the finance function.
• Leading, coaching and developing the finance team while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
