Job summary

MusterFire International invites a commercially focused Financial Controller to join our leadership team in Sydney, NSW. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll manage financial reporting, forecasting, treasury, taxation compliance, and inventories, delivering accurate monthly cash flow and a three-way forecast to support growth.

This hands-on role requires strong technical accounting, ERP experience with NetSuite, advanced Excel and the ability to drive process improvements across finance and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or commerce with professional qualifications (CPA/CA)
• 5+ years in financial leadership roles such as Financial Controller or Senior Accountant
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation, accrual accounting and internal controls
• Experience with month-end/year-end reporting, audits and liaising with external stakeholders
• Three-way forecasting, cash flow, budgeting, modelling and working capital management
• Inventory accounting, stock control and reconciliations
• ERP systems experience, ideally NetSuite; Power BI is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting processes with accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial analysis, Board reports and performance commentary
• Maintain an integrated three-way forecast (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity and working capital
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and provisions
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, banks and advisers
• Strengthen financial systems, governance and internal controls
• Lead and develop finance and IT teams
